Security you can audit, not just hope for.
Most guarding contracts fail quietly: the patrol that never happened, the incident nobody wrote up, the supervisor who never came. Warhawk is built so those failures are visible — and correctable — while they still matter.
Electronic Patrol Verification
Officers scan physical checkpoints on their route. You receive the scan log — so a missed 02:00 patrol shows up in your report, not six months later in an insurance dispute.
Dedicated Site Supervision
One named supervisor owns your site. They run the briefings, spot-check shifts unannounced and answer your calls directly — you never explain your site to a stranger.
Incident Reporting
Every incident is written up within the shift: time, location, officer, action taken, outcome. That record is what your insurer, HR process or SAPS docket depends on.
Daily Activity Reporting
A daily occurrence book covering access movements, deliveries, contractor sign-ins and exceptions — sent to your operations contact, not filed in a drawer at the gate.
24/7 Control Room
Shift check-ins are logged against a schedule. A missed check-in triggers a call-out before your site sits unmanned — the failure is detected, not discovered.
Trained Security Officers
Officers are graded to the post they hold, briefed on your specific site risks, and re-briefed whenever your layout, hours or threat picture changes.
PSIRA Registered
PSIRA 4788568, SAPS 26359, plus CIPC, CSD, PSSPF, NBCPSS and WCA documentation supplied up front — so your procurement or tender pack clears first time.
Tailored Security Solutions
Officer numbers, post positions and shift patterns are set by a walk-through of your premises — not by a package tier. If your risk drops, so does your cost.

The right grade for the right post.
Every security guard in South Africa must be registered and graded by the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority. The grade determines the training standard, the minimum wage under the sectoral determination, and the type of post an officer may lawfully hold. Quotes that do not state grades per post are impossible to compare fairly.
| Grade | Typical role | Where we deploy it |
|---|---|---|
| Grade A | Site / contract manager | Multi-post sites, contract oversight, client reporting |
| Grade B | Supervisor / higher-risk post | Shift supervision, cash-handling and control-room posts |
| Grade C | Senior officer | Access control, gatehouse, load and dispatch control |
| Grade D | General static officer | Static posts, patrols, reception and visitor screening |
| Grade E | Entry-level officer | Low-risk observation posts under direct supervision |
How security guard services are costed.
The cheapest guarding quote is usually the one hiding understaffed relief, under-graded officers or unpaid PSSPF contributions — and it becomes your liability, not the provider's. These are the six variables that legitimately move the number.
PSIRA grade of the post
Higher grades carry higher minimum wages under the sectoral determination — matching grade to risk keeps spend honest.
Shift pattern and coverage
A true 24/7 post needs more than two officers once leave, sick cover and public holidays are budgeted.
Armed vs unarmed
Armed posts add firearm competency, licensing, insurance and stricter supervision requirements.
Site size and post count
Perimeter length, number of access points and vehicle traffic dictate how many posts are genuinely needed.
Equipment and infrastructure
Radios, patrol monitoring, guard huts, lighting and PPE are quoted as line items, never buried.
Supervision and reporting
Dedicated site management and SLA reporting is included, not an optional upsell.
Choose the structure that fits your risk.
Static guarding
Fixed officers on defined posts — gatehouse, reception, weighbridge, dispatch. Best where access control and deterrence at a known point is the primary risk. Detail on our guarding services page.
Patrol-based cover
GPS-tracked internal and perimeter patrols on randomised routes. Suited to large yards, warehouses and construction sites where a single post cannot cover the footprint.
Layered contracts
Static posts, patrols, supervision and coordinated third-party armed reaction under one SLA — the standard model for industrial and retail groups.

Your questions, answered.
How much do security guard services cost in South Africa?+
Cost is driven by PSIRA grade, number of posts, shift pattern and whether the post is armed. A single unarmed 12-hour static post typically needs two officers to cover a 24-hour cycle, plus relief for leave and public holidays. Warhawk quotes per post with the wage, PSSPF, PPE, supervision and equipment line items shown separately so you can compare proposals like for like.
What is the difference between PSIRA Grade A, B, C, D and E guards?+
Grades run from E (entry-level basic guarding) up to A (site or contract management level). Grade C and D officers cover most static and access posts, Grade B suits supervisors and higher-risk posts, and Grade A covers site managers. Warhawk matches the grade to the risk of the post rather than defaulting to the cheapest grade available.
How quickly can security guards be deployed to my site?+
A free site assessment is done within one business day of your enquiry, a costed proposal follows the same or next day, and officers can typically be posted within 48 to 72 hours of contract sign-off. Emergency or interim cover can be arranged faster where officers are already rostered in the area.
Are Warhawk security guards PSIRA registered and insured?+
Yes. Warhawk is PSIRA-registered (4788568) and every deployed officer is individually PSIRA-graded, vetted and site-briefed. Full compliance documentation — PSIRA, CIPC, CSD, PSSPF, SAPS registration and liability cover — is supplied with every tender or corporate proposal.
Do you provide armed guards or armed response?+
Warhawk deploys armed and unarmed static officers directly. Armed reaction vehicle response is coordinated through accredited third-party partners rather than supplied in-house, so the response layer is contracted transparently and never misrepresented as our own fleet.
Can I contract security guards for a short project or a single event?+
Yes. Construction projects, seasonal retail peaks, shutdowns, audits, launches and events are all contracted on fixed-term terms, with the same vetting, supervision and reporting standards as long-term contracts.
How do you supervise guards and prove they were on post?+
Every contract includes a dedicated site manager, a daily occurrence book, GPS-tracked patrol logs, random night visits by area supervisors and a monthly SLA report suitable for board or landlord reporting.
How do you charge for security guard services?+
Guarding is charged per post rather than as a lump-sum package. Each post is built from the PSIRA grade wage set by the sectoral determination, the shift pattern and the number of officers genuinely required to cover it, PSSPF and statutory contributions, PPE and equipment, supervision and site management. Warhawk shows each of those as a separate line on the quotation so two proposals can be compared honestly instead of on a single monthly figure.
How do I compare security guard quotes fairly?+
Ask every provider for the same three things: the PSIRA grade of each post, the number of officers rostered per post including relief for leave, sick days and public holidays, and written confirmation that PSSPF and sectoral wage obligations are being paid. A quote that is materially cheaper is usually under-graded, under-staffed or non-compliant — and as the client you inherit that liability.
How do security companies sell security services to businesses?+
A legitimate sales process starts with a risk assessment, not a rate card: a site walk-through mapping access points, perimeter, asset and cash-flow risk; a written post proposal justifying every officer; transparent per-post costing; and compliance documentation (PSIRA, CIPC, CSD, PSSPF, SAPS) supplied upfront. Any provider quoting before seeing your site is selling headcount, not security.
Which areas do you cover for guarding services?+
Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Kariega (Uitenhage), Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, St Francis Bay, Addo, Kirkwood, Colchester and the wider Eastern Cape, with national contracts serviced on request.
Verifiable, not decorative.
